Bo & The BluesDrivers - Segment Begins At The 13:12 Mark

Their new Self-Titled EP released in May.  The band recorded, mixed and mastered the album inside of one day, and they have been touring venues and festivals since.  I spoke with the Brian "Chewy" James and we explored his history, the band and where they are heading.

Noah Wotherspoon - Segment Begins At The 53:45 Mark

The Noah Wotherspoon Band took 2nd place at the International Blues Challenge this year and he was named Gibson Guitar Player of The Year. The new album, Mystic Mud just dropped and is already making noise throughout the Blues World. I got to chat with Noah about his life and music, including the incredible start which occurred when he was 13 years old, meeting Bobby "Blue" Bland (great story there) and more.

Jimmy Wolf - Segment Begins At The 1:40:45 Mark

Jimmy is a member of the Turtle Clan Mohawk Tribe from upstate New York and has played on stages with some of the most revered Bluesmen around including Buddy Guy, Jr. Wells, Albert King and Albert Collins. His latest release is A Tribute to Little Johnny Taylor and we spoke about his finding the blues, the lessons he has learned along the way and his tribute to Johnny Taylor.

MITCH MANN - Segment Begins At The 16:00 Mark

Mitch moved to Muscle Shoals in 1993 and has become part of the culture of that great musical city. His new album, Blackwater Creek contains seven originals and four covers. Some incredible musicians including Donna Jean Godchaux, Scott Boyer and Jimmy Hall join him. Mitch and I traced his path from growing up and finding music, the bands he has perfomred with over the years and his new album and desires.

BIG JIM ADAM - Segment begins At The 1:02:10 Mark

Jim has appeared at the IBC Twice, once representing the Colorado Blues Society and most recently representing his new home, the Blues Society Of The Treasure Coast. He was awarded top honors at the 2012 Telluride Acoustic Blues Competition. His music is Gospel infused Blues and he can spin a tale brilliantly. His latest albums are the Blues-Roots Cajun Moon and the Blues-Gospel Needed Time. Jim and I spoke about how he came to The Blues, his growing up in rural Kansas and so much more.

Mississippi Fever - Segment Begins At The 1:44:40 Mark

The band hails from St. Louis and is made up of singer/guitarist Brent Barker, bassist Ted May and drummer Tom May. Their sophomore album, 300 Miles to Memphis contains 8 originals and two covers and includes some harp from Brandon Santini and keyboards from Rick Steff. Brent and I spoke about his journey, meeting Ted in Los Angeles, their reconnecting in St. Louis and how the band works as a unit to create their special sound.

SADIE JOHNSON - COUCH KID NEW MUSIC

Segment begins At The 2:33:10 Mark

You might know Sadie from Sad Sam Blues Jam, the band she and her sister formed and brought to the IBCs for the Youth Showcases a few years in a row. She joined me last June to talk about her new band and being inducted into the Brotherhood Of The Guitar. Sadie was signed to the Girls With Guitars Tour in Europe by Ruff Records and just released the newest GWG album with Eliana Cargnelutti and Heather Crosse. She has also formed her own band and we spoke about what is happening in her musical life.

Long Tall Deb and musical partner Couch Kid Colin John returned to bring us the new EP which is due for general release tomorrow, Street Of Mumbai. I spoke with Deb and Colin about their trip to India and the origins of the other songs on the EP.

LUCKY LOSERS - Segment Begins At The 56:15 Mark

The Lucky Losers are Cathy Lemons and Phil Berkowitz and they released the album Winning Hand earlier this year.  Co-produced by Lemon and Berkowitz alongside Kid Andersen, the album contains 6 originals and 6 specially selected covers. Cathy, Phil and I discussed their individual roads to the Bay Area, the influences they gained along the way, their meeting and the formation of a partnership on and off stage.

CHRISTIAN COLLIN - COUCH KID NEW MUSIC

Christian originally Sat On The Couch on April 28, 2014 shortly after he released his album American Art.  He has a new album, Spirit Of The Blues, which released in July and he returned to The Couch to share and talk about it.  We touched on his time since last April, the video for the title song which should be released shortly, ducking the Chicago Police while making the video and more.

JAY SIELEMAN 

Outgoing President/CEO of The Blues Foundation.  The Foundation has had some growing pains during Jay's time in ofice, but he also accomplished the building of the physical Blues Hall Of Fame in Memphis, TN.  A total success for the Foundation and those Blues Artists who have been enshrined since 1980.  Jay and I shared his background prior to his joining the Blues Foundation.  We spoke about his love for music from an early age and how this love turned into a position with the fFoundation.  We also discussed the changes that have occurred during his time and finally, we looked into the future to see what is in store for Jay and Priscilla. 

 

JAY STOLLMAN - Segment Begins At The XXX Mark

Jay's vocals are a dynamic fusion of Blue Eyed Soul and Rock and Roll. Along with great performance ability and stage presence, a Jay Stollman show is always guaranteed to rock the house. Jay Stollman is currently appearing with The Johnny Winter Band as the front man and lead vocalist for the Johnny Winter Remembrance Shows, honoring the legendary bluesman, as well as performing with The Jay Stollman Blues Band. Jay and I will tracked his journey and talked about the newest album, Room For One More.
