Ray’s visit was during IBC Previews, so technically, this was his first time on The Couch and we traced his history from Canada to Boston to the army and then the 5 stops he made before settling in Austin, TX 10 years ago. We spoke about a few songs on At King Electric.

JEREMIAH JOHNSON – COUCH KID NEW MUSIC

Jeremiah has just released Straitjacket on Ruf Records. He and I spoke about how he hooked up with Mike Zito to produce and then Ruf Records came calling. We discussed his documentary and the demons he battled and we explored the music on the new album.

Damon has a new album, The Whiskey Bayou Sessions, produced by Tab Benoit. It is always a pleasure to chat with Damon. We spoke about the recording of the album, working with Tab, his getting asked to play with Dickie Betts and more while we listened to the music.

Rescheduled from 10/01/18 – Had a great time learning about Frank’s past and his journey to where he is today. We talked about his singing gospel and then moving to Philly and all that has happened since, while listening to Back In Business.
KEITH STONE – Segment Begins At The 42:45 Mark
Fun time talking with Keith about his journey from playing the horn as a teen to being a Minister for a large church in South Carolina to returning home to NOLA after Katrina had hit his city. We discussed how he put the band Red Gravy together and finally we discussed the true meaning of Red Gravy.
JONATHON LONG – Segment Begins At The 1:32:40 Mark
With the release of his self-titled album on the new Samantha Fish label, Wild Heart records, Jonathon also dropped the ‘boogie’ from his name and takes his music to the next level. He and I talked about his road to meeting Samantha and the new music and where he is heading in the future.
GINA SICILIA – COUCH KID NEW MUSIC

Gina returned with her new album, Heard The Lie. We talked about all that has gone on in her life since her last visit. We also discussed her music and the conversation about the genre she is producing…we settled on the genre: Gina!

Sean made his 4th visit t The Couch. The last being in 2017 when Trouble & Whiskey was released. His new album, Welcome To My Blues, which dropped last Friday has already hit the RMR Blues Chart. Sean & I discussed the album, all that is going on in his world and what is coming in the near future.

Geoff is touring the US at the moment and has just released Sovereign Town. He was kind enough to swap times with Stacy and then we held a great conversation regarding the concept behind Sovereign Town and how it all came to be.

We swapped Stacy’s time with Geoff so he could finish his set at BB Kings and then we spent our time together discussing the 2016 self-titled album, his current performance schedule and the upcoming album, which will be a 3-album Live collection of his music.

Scott spent almost a decade as musical director to Gregg Allman and has now released his 5th solo album, Saving Grace. Scott and I had a great talk about his career and his feelings on the music industry and more.
