BOB CORRITORE - COUCH KID NEW MUSIC
Segment Begins At The 10:20 Mark
Couch Kid Bob Corritore has new music out. A terrific collaboration along with Big Jon Atkinson. The two joined me to talk about their album, House Party At Big Jon’s.
Then I sat with Jon and we talked about his life and musical journey. We traced how the Tennessee native ended up in California playing with folks like Nathan James and Kim Wilson and Bob Corritore. Our conversation also covered Jon's 'old soul' for the music he loves and his hope for his generation. We also listened to some songs from his Boogie With You Baby album.
John has been sharing his Blues talent since the early 70’s when he found himself in Chicago. It took until 2006 for him to get a national album release and it immediately got him noticed with a BMA nomination. What has the road been like since then? We talked about his journey, the people he met and played with along the way and his musical philosophy while we listened to music from the new album, Stand Your Ground.
Segment Begins At The 2:18:00 Mark
I reached out to Endland to speak with Helen Turner and Iain Black formally of Bare Bones Boogie Band, now leading Born Healer. Their debut album, 'Til The Dawn, proves their Blues pedigree once again. As always, a great time speaking with these two wonderful musicians. We talked about the Blues scene in England and why there are no Blues Socities sending bands to the IBC - we never got that one figured out!
