JOEY DELGADO - Guitarist for the Delgado Brothers who took 1st place at the 2016 International Blues Challenge. The band was unavailable during the wrap-up show, so Joey called in to talk about the wek the band had and their plans for 2016.

LITTLE BOYS BLUE - Segment Begins At The 11:40 Mark
The band was formed in 1993. As a duo, in 1997 they won third place in the International Blues Competition. In 2013 Dave Mallard, Mark Brooks, Alex Taylor and Dave Thomas joined the band to complete the existing lineup. We sat and spoke with JD about the history of the band, their growth from playing so many gig and the band today. We listened to tunes from Bad Love.

Bob began playing with Muddy Waters at 24 years of age and toured the world over the next 7 years and then began his own band. Bob has written about his journeys and has amassed a discography that shines. He and I had a great talk and I believe we uncovered some information that had not been shared before. Jason Vivone and the Billy Bats come out of Kansas City with an attitude and a ton of talent. Jason has made the IBC as a solo/duo artist and with his band. The new album The Avenue honors the neighborhood in Kansas City where Jason lived in the early 90’s. We talked about his journey, the new music and more.

Reggie comes out of Baltimore, MD. He has just released Don’t Bring Me Daylight, a collection of 11 originals and covers, filled with a solid Blues feel. Reggie and I talked about his entry into music, the way his career has taken twists and turns and his writing stylings.

Johnny Rawls originally Sat On The Couch on March 18, 2013. Johnny’s new album Tiger In A Cage has garnered him another BMA Nomination for “Soul Blues Male Artist”. The album contains 12 tracks including 9 originals. We talked about recording his 2014 album Soul Brothers with Otis Clay, his travels, the songs on the new album and more.

Sam's resume includes time with The Blind Boys of Mississippi, The Blind Boys Of Alabama, and collaborator with Donald Fagen, Keith Richards and others. Sam now has a solo album Raise Your Hands, and he and I spoke about his journey, his love of God and music and where he is headed today.

He was named best guitarist for electric and acoustic for four years in a row in Austin, TX. He is friends and co-writer with Billy F. Gibbons and he has a new album entitled 21st Century Blues. There is so much more of this man. Van and I explored his journey and listened to his music.
