TAMPA BAY BLUES FEST

BMW – COUCH KID NEW MUSIC
Two Couch Kids have teamed up with another musician to create a new sound. The kids are Big Dave McLean and Tim Williams and they brought in Kevin Belzner, and they created Catfish. We talked about how it all happened and where it might be going.

GUY BELANGER
Guy took his seat on The Couch. He has released Eldorado, his 8th solo album. I had a wonderful time chatting with Guy and learning of his history…the music, wonderful.
VAL STARR
Val and her band, The Blues Rocket have released Lighter Side Of The Blues, 13 original songs that show a multitude of styles. She and I had a great conversation with some laughs thrown in. We learned about how she made her way and where she is heading.

The band was just in Memphis for the IBC, and we got to premier a song from this new album, Lessons Learned. Tonight we played more songs and spoke with Jim & Truth about their world.

Mark has released Wayback Machine with some special guests and great music. He and I got to trace his journey and talked about his many influences and the music he is creating.

Tommy has released Distant Light (Live Acoustic) and came by to talk about the album his life and more. We spoke about his health (good news), new music he is creating (great news) and more. We also heard an unreleased song from a session back 20-30 years ago.

PIERCE DIPNER
Pierce has come by and visited during IBC for the last few years. He is a Bluesman on the rise and has released Get Out Of Your Life, an EP of 3 originals and one remake. Pierce and I talked about his journey (short as it has been so far) and where he is heading in the future.

RYAN PERRY – COUCH KID NEW MUSIC
Ryan is an OG Couch Kid, having been featured back on show #40 back on December 20, 2010! Tonight we got to talk about his new album High Risk, Low Reward and all that has been going on in his world since we spoke way back then. We had some laughs…this man is on his way.

Sonny Charles returned to talk about the new album, Your Baby Has Left, which has a drop date of April 3rd. We also talked about having to cancel the Tampa Bay Blues Festival and how this all impacts the band for 2020.

Rick and the band have released Night Songs, 10 original Blues/Americana beauties served up by talented musicians. We caught up with Rick as we listened to music from the album.

Another act we met at the 2020IBC. Mark Carnes and Jeff Shew joined me to talk about their individual journeys and the music they are making together today…and what tomorrow holds, while we listened to PortHole.
MARK TELESCA – COUCH KID NEW MUSIC
Mark released Higher Vibrations, the companion album to his book Love Music Hate Cancer, written after he beat cancer. We talked about the whole episode, the music he recorded and what he hopes to accomplish going forward.
